5 GYM HAIR HACKS YOU NEVER KNEW YOU NEEDED

Lets be honest, it doesn't take an overwhelming excuse for us to avoid the gym. We'll see that the top we wanted just went out of stock and decide that it's clearly a sign that we're not supposed to go, I mean, there's no correlation but still, it was a sign.

Going to the gym before work can be a drag , even more so when you've got to make sure you're looking presentable afterwards. Girl, we understand, so here's five hair hacks to get you over your gym phobia and to make sure your hair is prepped and f*cking fabulous for the rest of the day. 

1. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE SWEATBAND

Okay so you might think you'll be looking like you've stepped out of an 80's music video but seriously you don't know how much aggravation it'll save by wearing one. You instantly avoid the sweaty hair look and it'll majorly cut down on your post gym "getting ready for work" time. Go and invest, work those 80's yoga instructor vibes honey. 

2. POST GYM PONY

Our go to power style when we're leaving the gym for work, a sleeked back pony will never fail you. All you need to throw in your bag before you leave in the morning is a brush, hair tie, and some hairspray. Five minutes tops to get it right and you'll be on your way to work feeling like you're ready to own the damn day. The extra bonus to this style is that your hair natural oils make this easier to make sleek! 

3. SHOWER POWER 

Sometimes you can't avoid washing your hair at the gym, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. But we know how quickly the time ticks away. After you've showered, dry your hair super roughly just to get the main bulk of moisture out and then run some oil through your mane and pull it up in to a bun to finish drying on your way to work. You'll be surprised how quickly it'll dry off when you're out and about on your way to work and you're adding a moisture boost with the oil which your mane will definitely thank you for. 


4. BRAIDS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND

An alternative to the post wash bun as we know that all our queens have different hair textures, so we've got all the bases covered. If your hair is a little more unruly and textured, opt for the plaits over the bun. Still rough dry a little moisture away and add in the oil but then you can easily and quickly plait it back. Added bonus, when you take them out at the end of the day you'll be left with some lit AF waves for the next day. 


5. PERFECTIONST WE'VE GOT YOU - PRE WASH YOUR MANE.

If a pony, plait or bun doesn't float your boat and you like to have your mane out on display then keep listening. This is going to require getting up earlier so it's up to you whether it's worth it. Get up and wash your hair PRE GYM. No, we're not crazy, hear us out. If you wash you hair before the gym, rough dry,  spray roots with dry shampoo and twist hair into a top knot. Then after your work out all you've gotta do is jump in the shower (miss out the hair wash obvs) and then blast your hair with the hairdryer to remove any moisture before releasing the topknot and shaking hair out to reveal waves!

 There's no denying this takes a little more effort but if it's perfection you want, you gotta be willing to invest the time.
